Visiting numerous shops and markets is an integral part of a trip to Alanya. Trade is concentrated mainly on Ataturk Street, in the city center, where there are many shops, boutiques and numerous retail shops.

In Alanya, such a phenomenon as a “mobile market” is common. The local markets of the city are not at all similar to the traditional noisy and colorful oriental bazaars, as, for example, in Istanbul (specifically about the popular Grand Bazaar, a detailed article is here). In Alanya, these are usually weekly meetings of farmers selling personally grown crops with local residents. A distinctive feature of the markets of Alanya is that they work on certain days, according to the so-called “floating” schedule.

Current schedule of local markets:

On Mondays, trading takes place in the Oba area. The market is located opposite the Metro supermarket.
On Tuesdays – Mahmutlar (landmark hotel “Alpina”), Alanya – Balyk Bazaar fish market.
On Wednesdays – in the central part of the Konakli district, in the Kestel district, on the territory bordering Mahmutlar.
On Thursdays – Avsallar, Tomsur (at the municipal building).
On Fridays – the central part of the city and the Kargicak district.
On Saturdays -Jikjilli (opposite the hypermarket “Kipa”), Mahmutlar (at the mayor’s office and post office).
On Sundays – Alanya market in the central part of the city opposite the gas station “Opet”.

For your information! Seasoned tourists recommend coming to the markets before closing, when traders are ready to sell goods at the lowest prices. However, it should be borne in mind that the quality of the products remaining on the shelves may not be the best.

Any currency is accepted in local markets, be it lira, euro, dollars and even rubles. It is believed that it is most profitable to pay in Turkish lira, because when paying in foreign currency, sellers often round up the change not in favor of the buyer and can calculate the cost of the goods at an unfavorable rate.

Grand Bazaar
The largest grocery market and one of the most popular tourist spots in the city is the Grand Bazaar. All the sights of the city were described in detail here. At the Grand Bazaar you can buy the freshest fruits, vegetables, berries, cheeses, nuts, spices, Turkish sweets, honey, herbs and much more. What is noteworthy is that the information on many price tags by merchants is indicated in Russian.

You can get to the Grand Bazaar by city buses No.101, 102 (stop “Grand Bazaar”), by taxi, or on foot, moving along Ataturk Boulevard and turning onto the streets of Erzurum Caddesi or Bostancipinari Caddesi.

Fish market
The permanent market Balyk Bazaar, where you can always buy fresh fish at reasonable prices, is located in the central part of the city. On Tuesdays, a mobile market is traded on its territory, where the cost of goods is often much lower than on the main one.

You can get to Balyk Bazaar by bus No. 2, which stops directly at the main entrance.

Pay attention! A fish and grocery market, made in the form of an ergonomic pavilion, operates daily in the city. The pavilion is installed on the site of the Tuesday market. Not far from it there is a parking lot with a large number of places. The assortment includes seafood, fish, agricultural products.

Clothing market
A huge number of clothes and shoes of the average price category are sold at the city clothing market. Here you can buy things of popular Turkish brands, as well as replicas of famous world brands. The cost of the product varies from $20 to $200.

Trading takes place on Mondays at 30 Sokak Street.

Important! It is customary to bargain in the clothing market. It is simply necessary to do this, because the cost of the goods is sometimes overestimated by two or even three times.

The best places to shop in the city
In the shops of the city, mainly Turkish-made products are presented, but there are also things from world manufacturers. The largest shopping center of the city is “Alanyum” with a wide range of clothes, shoes, cosmetics, perfumes of both local and imported production. This is the very first large mall built in Alanya.

In addition to fashion boutiques, there is a playground and a food court in the shopping center. Prices are fixed, but there are periodic sales. The address is Cumhuriyet Mahallesi Keykubat Bulvari No: 219.
Another fairly popular place for shopping in the resort is the shopping mall “Megamall”, located at Konakli Mah. 100 Sokak No: 13/23 Alanya.
For leather products, you can safely go to the company store “Baran Club” or “The World of leather and fur of Alanya”, which is a representative office of the company “Selda”. Fur products are presented in the Ottimo sheepskin coat store, which is located in Mahmutlar. Prices for products here are relatively lower than in the city center, and the quality, according to customer reviews, is excellent.

Fashionable clothes can be bought at the LC Waikiki store on Ataturk Boulevard. The company offers a wide range of the most diverse clothing, a special place among which is Denim.

Experienced tourists who rent holiday apartments in Alanya recommend buying products from a specialized discounter “Bim”. The chain grocery stores “Carerefor” and “Migros” are also popular among tourists, where Turkish goods are on sale.

In the hypermarket “Kipa” in Jikjilli, the cost of products is relatively lower than in these supermarkets. The advantage of “Kipa” is regular promotions for the purchase of goods. The address of the hypermarket is Saray Beleni Mah., Hacibaba Cad., No: 4, Cikcilli.

On a note! Despite the presence of supermarkets and hypermarkets in the city, it is most profitable to buy food at the local grocery market. So, at the Friday market you can buy not only fresh agricultural goods, vegetables and fruits, as well as oriental sweets, aromatic seasonings.

Useful tips
As souvenirs from Alanya, in addition to banal postcards, magnets and figurines, you can bring Turkish jewelry, colorful scarves, dishes and much more. Original gifts for relatives or colleagues can be coffee turks, handmade soap, sea shells, onyx figurines, souvenir hookahs, coffee and spice mills, decorative embroidered pillows and natural cosmetics based on olive oil. You can buy these goods at the clothing market of Alanya.
Seasoned tourists recommend not to shop in shops and shops on the territory of hotels, since prices in such places are significantly inflated.

Alanya Center

The center of Alanya is the most beautiful and sought-after place in the city. A paradise on the Turkish Riviera offers excellent urban infrastructure and a variety of leisure opportunities.

There are many restaurants of traditional cuisine, a number of restaurants with international menus, trendy cafes, shops, boutiques, 5 hospitals, polyclinics, banks, fish and farmer’s markets and much more. There are many boutique hotels and guest houses in the center. Transport links are excellent, there are parking lots or taxi call buttons everywhere.

Beach / West side
The heart of the city center is the famous Cleopatra Beach with a view of the ancient fortress. The fine sandy beach is well equipped. Damlatash promenade is adjacent to the coastline and will charm anyone with its beauty. Walking paths, fountains, benches, swings, playgrounds, a fitness park, cafes, restaurants are located along the entire park.
The extreme western part is also equipped with a chic embankment. The beach is public and well equipped. In this place you can find a number of entertainment such as paragliding and various types of water sports.

Beach / East side
There are many cafes, restaurants, boutique hotels on the coastline. The beaches are modernly equipped and serve their guests. Between such areas, you can sit on a beach towel or a folding chair for free. The entrance to the water is sandy and finely pebbly.

Near Cleopatra Beach there are:

Stalactite / stalagmite cave
Cable car uphill to the ancient fortress. The most gorgeous views of Cleopatra
from above!
Archaeological Museum
Tennis courts of international standards
Cinema
Water park.

Also worth mentioning:

The red tower of the 13th century, is a symbol of Alanya
Ancient shipyard of the Seljuk times (1227)
Ancient fortress with ancient ruins
Lighthouse
A harbor with exciting excursions on pirate ships
Children’s Park in the harbor
Ataturk House Museum
Bazaars (markets)
Numerous shopping.

In the city center you will find mostly low-rise houses. In recent years, dilapidated buildings have been demolished, in place of which modern high-rise buildings have been built. Some apartment hotels have been transformed into residential complexes with equipped internal infrastructure (swimming pools, spas, etc.).The general picture of the city center is represented by houses of the old foundation, mostly well-groomed and modernized. Such objects in Alanya are in demand among foreign buyers of real estate. Since the building plots in the city center are not so large, residential complexes are built in a compact format. Only a few facilities offer a large indoor infrastructure for recreation. Depending on the location of the house, the beach is from 50 m to 1.5 km away.

Both are a typical European area near the center with well-maintained five-storey residential complexes with swimming pools. Prices are high, as the area is almost built up, and its infrastructure is beyond praise.

Oba is a popular area, part of Alanya, ecologically clean air, equipped beaches, high service and comfort attract wealthy foreigners. A cozy atmosphere is created by a beautiful embankment, green squares and parks, children’s and sports grounds. The infrastructure is developed. Guests will be able to visit shopping malls, the oriental market, shops, take an active holiday on the Dean River or go to the valley of the same name. The population of the district is 14,000 people. The nearest airport is Gazipasa Airport, 35 km away. Geographically, the Oba district is located on the coast, the beaches are clean, well-groomed and environmentally friendly. Thanks to these indicators, they were awarded the “Blue Flag” badge of distinction. Along the coastal zone with a length of 3 km. there are sandy and pebble areas. Every year, before the start of the season, new sand and small pebbles are brought. Before updating the coverage of the coastal zone, the compositions are sifted through a fine mesh. There are several areas covered with slabs. The beaches themselves are equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas, the entrance to the sea is gentle, the depth increases gradually.

Active recreation is organized for vacationers, here you can play beach volleyball or football. Nearby there are cafes, restaurants, beach equipment rental points, souvenir stalls. Some hotels and inns located in the first coastline have installed a wooden deck leading to the beach.

Oba district is located 3 kilometers from the central part of Alanya, and about 140 kilometers from the center of Antalya. The nearest airport is GAZIPASA Airport, 35 km away. Transport accessibility allows you to get to the center of Alanya in less than 10 minutes. It borders with the districts of Jikjilli and Tosmur.

Jikcilli is one of the central districts of Alanya. When you live in a megalopolis, sometimes you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Get away from noisy streets and large crowds of people. But at the same time, I do not want to go far from all the city amenities at all, and it is important that the area is modern and comfortable. And not some inaccessible suburb of the city. In Alanya, there is just such an area, which is located just four kilometers from the city center, at the foot of the mountains. And at the same time, at some distance from the central avenues, noisy hotels and tourist infrastructure. This is the district of Jikjilli. The most peaceful area of Alanya is located parallel to the Oba district, behind the bypass road and extends towards the mountains. Almost all the houses and complexes here were built quite recently. By the way, multi-storey buildings are allowed here, so there are a lot of high-rise buildings in Jikjilli with a chic infrastructure, large swimming pools and a green area. There is not a single hotel in Jikjilli, so tourists are infrequent guests here. Foreigners come here to rest either in their own apartments or rent apartments. A huge plus of Jikjilli is that there are no noisy discos and music bars. So, if you like to go to bed early, nothing will prevent you from falling asleep sound and healthy.

Jikjilli is located about 800-1000 meters from the sea. But at the same time, even walking to the nearest beach will not take long.

The closest from Jikcilli to the beaches of Oba, but literally in 15 minutes you can drive to the most beautiful beach of Alanya – Cleopatra Beach.

Despite the fact that Jikjilli is a completely non-touristic area, you can find everything you need for both recreation and permanent residence here. To begin with, the locals do not even have to go to the center for shopping. There is a huge Kipa supermarket near the bypass road, and this is the largest Kipa in the whole city. They sell food, household chemicals, and cosmetics. And also in this building there is a huge shoe store.

On the border of Jikcilli and Oba is the Alanium shopping center, which contains shops of the most popular Turkish clothing brands.

There are a lot of various restaurants and cafes in Jikjilli. Here you can find both popular fast food chains: Burger King, and cafes serving Turkish and European cuisine.

There is also an excellent bakery here. Imagine how you go out on the balcony of your own apartment with a mug of hot tea or coffee and take a bite of a freshly baked crispy simit or a bun bought in a bakery. Isn’t this the perfect start to the day?

If you are a fan of sports, then again you are in Jikjilli. It is here that the largest sports complex in the city is located, where there is not only a modern huge gym, but also fitness, yoga and other group classes

There are schools, pharmacies, a beauty salon in Jikjilli, as well as chain supermarkets: Bim, Sok, A101 and many small grocery markets where you can always buy basic necessities.

Jikjilli is surrounded by picturesque green mountains from the north. In Alanya, the green color prevails all year round. Therefore, looking into the distance, you find peace of mind, even if you are very tired at work or something has caused stress. This is probably why Europeans often buy real estate in Turkey in Jikjilli. Since this area is located on a hill, many apartments here offer sea views. And Jikjilli is located surrounded by orange groves. Therefore, twice a year, when citrus trees bloom, the area is filled with a unique delicate aroma. Jikcilli is an ideal area for those who dream of buying an apartment in Turkey in a quiet, green place, while within walking distance of all infrastructure amenities and a few minutes drive from the historical center of Alanya.

Tosmur is a quiet, cozy area stretching along a picturesque mountain river – Tosmur has long been loved by those who want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, closer to nature. It is surrounded by orange orchards and picturesque mountains, there are no hotels here, so it is never noisy. But at the same time, Tosmur has all the amenities of the urban infrastructure necessary for both living and comfortable rest.

Dim Tea – the pearl of Tosmur

You can talk endlessly about the beauty of mountain rivers. The murmur of the water is fascinating, and the coolness cools even on the hottest summer day. The Alanian Tosmur is just located on the shore of the blue artery. The Dim Chai River can rightfully be called the pearl of this area.

It originates in the Toros Mountains and descends to the sea. The water temperature in the river does not rise above 15 degrees even in summer. This means that it is always cool on the shore.

Agree, when it’s +35 outside, it’s so nice to sit in one of the cafes on the bank of a mountain river, breathe in the refreshing air, enjoy the noise of water streams running to the sea.

Along the riverbank in Tosmur there are restaurants and cafes where you can have a delicious lunch or dinner, or just have a cup of tea or coffee. Moreover, the menu is always very affordable prices.

Along the blue artery, the city administration has installed gazebos that are literally drowned in flowers. Isn’t it perfect for evening walks?

By the way, you can even fish in Dim Chai. And in the upper part, closer to the mountains, there are many fish restaurants.

There are no hotels in Tosmur, so the only foreign tourists here are apartment owners in Turkey and tenants who prefer independent holidays.

What is the weather in Alanya on New Year? After the snowy and cold Russian winter, the local weather can seem very warm. In the daytime, the bright sun often shines, and the air warms up to + 17 ° C. However, the climate in Alanya is changeable and the next day it becomes cloudy and rainy. Don’t just be afraid of snow falling! At night, the air temperature drops below + 10C. Therefore, it is necessary to choose a warm autumn parka and jeans as clothing. Choose waterproof shoes for your feet. The presence of a cap and an umbrella will not hurt. The most unpleasant is the piercing cold wind, the appearance of which is completely impossible to predict.

Diverse weather cannot darken the New Year in Alanya – all street restaurants have covered premises and are additionally heated by heating devices with powerful heat fans. You can quickly warm up with the Ottoman Salep drink or take a glass of Turkish Raki. Be sure to take aspirin or paracetamol on the road, however, these funds are sold everywhere in pharmacies.

Now about where you can meet the New 2022.

The Ottoman House restaurant, located at Damlataş Caddesi 31, is one of the most recognizable in the resort. You can also taste traditional cuisine here.

Among the establishments, the average check in which is from 1000-1500 rubles and above, our compatriots are recommended to visit:

Dinner Restaurant (Cumhuriyet Mh. Yaşar Doğu Cd. Güngör Apt.No: 54 / B, Milli Egemenlik Stadyumu Arkası, 07400 Alanya,). A restaurant serving Mediterranean, international and European cuisine. The average cost of main courses is 700-1100 rubles.
Yakomoz Viking with international, Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine is located at Carsi Mahallesi Iskele Caddesi No: 59.
Halikarnos, Mahperi, Janus and Gaziantep restaurants are also popular with locals and tourists.

The Las Vegas Cafe & Bar, located near the port, offers a wide selection of wines, cocktails and fish dishes. Prices for drinks – from 750 rubles.
Azak Bar, located on the way to Cleopatra Beach on Ataturk Boulevard, offers visitors a varied menu and a wide variety of seafood dishes. The average cost of a glass of wine is 490 rubles.
Sky Lounge Sushi Bar is known for its delicious Japanese cuisine. The bar is also close to the beach.

Among the nightclubs, tourists recommend:

James Dean, with 4 dance floors, is one of the oldest in the city and very popular with tourists. Located near the pier.
The open-air Summer Garden in Konakli is also popular with visitors.
Zapfhahn, Latino Club, Janus, Hollywood are also recommended for visiting.

The coming 2022 according to the Eastern calendar is the year of the Black Water Tiger. Astrologers say that it will be replete with bright events and sharp turns of fate. The tiger is obstinate, not afraid of dangers and ready to take risks. The element of water softens and pacifies the animal. The tiger will give its patronage to those who act decisively, are ready to change and take responsibility for their lives. In connection with the above, those tourists who want to change their lives and stay in fabulous Alanya, we invite you to the OPERA PROPERTI! We work for you 24/7 and are ready to start the New Year by looking for the apartment of your dreams with you!

dopads surrounded by mountains, greenery, flowers everywhere. Nearby – tangerine and pomegranate orchards. Dozens of restaurants have been built right above the river bed. They serve excellent fresh fish dishes. You can also take a walk along the dam, and take a break from the heat on the shore or hold a vivid photo session. In some places there are bathing areas in the reservoir: there are sun loungers, umbrellas, showers. You can get by bus # 10 in 30 minutes from the center of Alanya.
Sapadere canyon
Located 48 km from the center of the resort. The grand opening took place in 2009. The canyon is a high cliff, along which a bridge is laid and an amazing view of the surroundings of Alanya opens up. Here you can see waterfalls, mountain streams, magnificent nature. There is a lake among the rocks, it is allowed to swim in it. The water is cold, does not exceed 18 degrees above zero. In the canyon there is a cafe, restaurant, toilets, a wonderful children’s playground. Everything is clean everywhere, signposted in Turkish and English. Really very picturesque interesting place!
The ancient city of Selinus Another name is Gazipasa. Alanya is located 40 km southeast. The ancient city of Selinus stands on a hillside that goes into the sea. It is about 3 km from the city harbor. Many centuries ago, the city was almost the main Turkish port. It flourished during the Hellenistic period (323-30 BC) and is still undergoing archaeological excavations. According to them, there were large settlements with mosques, baths, agricultural buildings and residential buildings. In 2004, a bronze statue of Pegasus (winged horse) was found in Selinus
The ancient city of Syedra was founded, as scientists believe, by the Romans in the 3rd century BC. Columns, a triumphal arch, pools, reservoirs, parts of the necropolis, baths have survived in good condition. Of particular interest are the remains of a two-story building, the walls of which are lavishly decorated with old drawings. During excavations, a large number of clay tablets were found here, telling about the life of the city. Look for it 35 km northwest of Alanya on the coast of the sea bay. You can only get here by car, but it’s worth it! The nearest public transport stop is 6 km from the ruins of the ancient city. Immediately at the entrance, a stunning panorama of the Mediterranean opens. Siedra is under the protection of the Alanya Archaeological Museum. The entrance to the territory of the ancient city is free. The place is arranged in an average way: there are benches, at the highest point there is an observation deck. There are no shops, cafes or other infrastructure.
The ancient city of Yotape (Aytap) Iotape is located 33 km southeast of Alanya. Founded in the 2nd century BC and is named after the wife of the commagene ruler Antiochus IV. The ruins of the ancient city are clearly visible from the road. They are scattered along the slope of the mountain, Cape Kemurlyuk and in the gorge.

For residents of Russia and other countries, the Republic of Turkey is attractive not only for its mild climate, location by the sea, excellent beaches and developed infrastructure. In addition, here you can buy cheap housing, which is offered in a wide variety by developers and agencies https://operaproperty.com/ru/property-type/apartment/ And it is also relatively easy to adapt in Turkey. This is especially true of resort towns, as there are many Russian-speaking people here, so life in a foreign land is becoming more familiar. In Alania, for example, there are two Orthodox churches. One of which is located on the slope of the Alanian fortress, surrounded by ancient, dilapidated walls of houses, new villas and mosques. The obtained residence permit gives a lot of advantages – you can use them! Sign up for free Turkish and then English courses! Start visiting museums for free or with a discount! If you have nostalgia for Russian products, visit such stores, for example, in Mahmutlar, this is Market 777! If you start smiling at the locals and speaking at least one new word, I’m sure your mood will improve and you will make new friends!

Many have favorite pets that they do not want to leave when moving to another country or for a long vacation. Accordingly, a number of questions arise: how to transport a pet to Turkey, what documents are needed to transport animals to Turkey, what vaccinations are needed to transport animals to Turkey ….

To transport your pet abroad, it is better to start preparing in advance, as you have to get vaccinated and collect all the necessary documents!

The most important points are:

The documents
Certificate of origin – Veterinary passport of international standard. Veterinarians know what vaccinations need to be done. Mandatory are for plague, rabies, parvovirus. You need to do them all in advance.

Rabies vaccine
This vaccination is definitely needed and if you have already given it to your pet, you need to check the deadline! This vaccination is valid for about 1 year.
All rabies vaccines must be of an international standard!

Microchip identification
A microscopic chip is implanted under the skin of an animal (cats or dogs) that meets a certain standard.
This procedure has a legal basis and operates on the territory of Turkey and the EU countries.

Pet handling
This procedure should be done a day or two before departure. It is done in the clinic and periodically this procedure needs to be repeated.

Help that the animal is not an individual of breeding value
It is needed so that employees can certify that you do not carry a valuable species of animal outside the country.
The certificate can be obtained from an officially registered canine organization.

Shipping container
It must meet the standards of the International Air Carriers Association

Do not forget to take food for your pet, if it is in the luggage compartment, the food can be handed over to the company employees!

Opera Property wishes you a pleasant flight!
